During that time, although the internet is widely used, the portal for transliteration learning is almost unavailable. Only from few years back, Mandarintools web are available.
It was a complete accomodation for those who tend to learn basic things on foreign language.
Now, for my nickname, which is "abgdark" which is an Anglo-Malay co-literation, the best name I get in based on direct pronunciation in Cantonese is 阿棒得. It sounds "AH PANG TAK" .
Aa Paang Dak is how the transliteration process are finalised globally for romanization of Chinese pronunciation, for the commonly written Ah Pang Tak. The double a on the middle sound shows that it have its own way of pronunciation to give a precise meaning while communicate.
Ah ( 阿 ) is a prefix for names in Chinese as the usage of 'Si' in Malay. Western literature have this way of calling people absent.
Paang ( 棒 ) or in Mandarin it romanized as 'bàng', carries a meaning as a stick; club or cudgel; smart; capable or strong. How about I pick " SMART ". Or maybe " CAPABLE" ! Or any means that shall rise between this two words.
Dak ( 得 ) or 'dé" in standard Mandarin pinyin (way to romanized with exact pronunciation) means, obtain; get; gain; proper; suitable; proud; contented; allow; permit; ready or finished. Or what ever means that rise between these means. So I picked "GAIN".
Now I have a nickname that means "SMART GAIN" or in common Cantonese romanization in this country, AH PANG TAK. In Malay, it best translated as "SI PEROLEHAN BIJAK". Ek ele. Poyo.
That how i get my name even the real meaning of my name is actually 黑哥 which in Mandarin it sound HEI GE and in Cantonese, HAK KO. Hei or Hak means black or dark, while Ge or Ko means a brother. With the prefix, it sounds AH HAK KO or 阿黑哥.

The less known fact is, Muslim's days changed when the sun sets down and the Maghrib prayers being recalled. This is quite similar to the Judaism culture which having the day change by the sunset, while the trend of the Christians, that promoted the today's gregorian, days changed by the midnight.
Another interesting fact is, the beginning of hijri new year in a particular year automaticly befall 10 or 11 days earlier than the yesteryear on the gregorian date set. Compare with Chinese lunatic year and Tamil lunatic year, Islamic calendar never add up a 13th month in every 3 years period, which being added to ensure the calendar stick to the yearly seasons.
This history was related to the idea of letting the Muslims to experience various occasion without being related to the seasons. Haj pilgrimage may come in winter and in other time of the rotational span, may be experienced in extream desert summer.
So do the fasting month and all Muslim's major religious festivals.
One might being critical on how Muslims could have an efficient historical record on perodical versus environmental kind of data archiving. But since the rotation will complete in 33 years time, any date of occasions that should it had a neccessity on weather or environmental relativity record, it could be seen in a wider period which is more better to be used in a future projection especially in managing corps, finance, and population.
Whatever it is, each of us here in Malaysia regardless their race and religion, should togather enjoying the new year for Muslims but of course being subjected to a feasible manner of celebrating it.
Despite the Ipoh's Rum Jungle DJ that shouting to the crowds last Saturday night in what most Malay majority patrons feel as offensive : "LETS MEET TOMORROW TO CELEBRATE AWAL MUHARRAM EVE!!"; which was replied with sounds of busting glass here and there, a wish for Hijri New Year is much more accepted even with a heartacheful words of "LETS MEET TOMORROW TO CELEBRATE THE CHANGE THAT MIGHT COME TO OUR MUSLIMS FRIENDS IN HERE SO THAT WE WILL HAVE THEM HERE IN THE FUTURE, WITHOUT IN DRUNKER THAN THE DRUNKEST MODE!"
Aye! Muslims might go beyond the Islamic rules but verily, they will feel disturbed if the religion itself being in unbeliever's words of disparage. Can anyone respect the right of being sensitive on things that might be not to others? I can kick any cat's butt if I found them peeing on my car's wheelcap but I just respect the right of being sensitive if I would not commit that in front of SPCA officials. Or I might just utter " Oh! How nice to have my car choosen as their territory!" in wholly hipocrisy.
Anyway, may 1430 brought a cheerful life with an ample grace and a beautiful guide light to the repentant path.

Blog something you wish to unblock
Hit the keys faster than a leaping frog
Get the idea drain out without clog
Even it cost a full awake round the clock.
Blog is better than Google Talk
Blog does not have such a YM stalk
Blog may turns one's mouth locked
Blog is hitting apartments block to block.
Blog utterance may harder than a rock
Blog might artfully softer than a cork
Blog the lamb, hen and hog
Blog of RPK is called blog of Anwar's dog.
Blog successfully did the mock
Made the ruler get a hard-hit-knock
And pride is no more with the peacock
So the leaders now says 'lets have a blog'.
If all kings join the world of blog
Maybe blogosphere joined by Gog and Magog
If someday Sudanese blogging in tagalog
I stop it here before you call me GOBLOK!
